Girls Basketball Overview

Girls Basketball is a CHSAA 5A competitive/tryout Winter sport. For the past several years, the Lakewood Lady Tigers have earned a spot in the state playoffs, with a”Sweet 16″ invitation in 2013-14, and two consecutive  “Great 8” invitations the past two season. And during that time they placed, or tied for, first in the the Jefferson County League.

Gabe Dinnette State Champ!

Congratulations to Sophomore Gabe Dinette who was crowned the 145-pound champion at the 2016 State Wrestling match at the Pepsi Center. Dinette beat Pomona’s Jake Romero in a 2-1 ultimate tie-breaker in overtime.This is Dinette’s first state championship. Lakewood’s Ultimate Frisbee team “The Deep,” emphasizes the importance of working together as a group in order to succeed.  They aim to teach new players how to play the game and enjoy the sport of Ultimate. Ultimate is a coed “activity” at Lakewood and not considered a sport under the Colorado High School Activities Association.
