FAQs

  • I have a sports physical from last Spring. Do I need a new one? Email Mrs. DeVito to see if she has it on file. If it was conducted within the past 12 months, it will work until it expires. You may need to get a new physical during the season.
  • I played a Fall/Winter sport and already turned in an Emergency Form. Why do I need to do another one? There are two reasons. For one, we just want to ensure we have the most up-to-date contact information in the event of an emergency. Secondly, returning athletes are not required to do the online registration again. Instead, by turning in the Emergency Form and the checklist, you are letting us know you are playing a spring sport.
  • I am on the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Do I still need to pay the $175 Athletic fee? No. We will, however need to confirm you are in the program. If we don’t find your name in the system, you may need to show us your letter. Also, you will still need to pay for camps/clinics and any team fees.
  • Can I play two spring sports? Athletes may play two spring sports, but they must discuss the idea with both coaches and set up expectations, including which is the primary sport. You will also need to have both coaches and your parents sign off the “Dual Sports” form, which is attached below.
  • Can I still play my club sport and a sport at LHS? Yes, however see Athletic Director Mr. Hughes to complete a CHSAA form.
  • My school doesn’t have the sports mentioned above. Can I be on Lakewood’s team? Yes. If your school, including a Jeffco high school, private or you are home-schooled, doesn’t offer a sport, you may join Lakewood’s team. You will need to complete the form below titled “STUDENT ATHLETE INFORMATION FORM (Non-Attending).” Non-Jeffco athletes will also need to submit grades, current class schedule, and proof of enrollment.
  • I just moved into the Lakewood area and played sports at a different high school. Can I play sports here? Yes. Depending on the reason for the move and your level of play, you may have some playing restrictions. However, please talk with Athletic Director Mike Hughes regarding your specific situation and complete the Transfer form below. There is also a link to the CHSAA handbook on this topic.
  • Any other questions? Email Mrs. DeVito at Sharon.DeVito@jeffco.k12.co.us for questions about registration.
